Stem Cell Therapy

Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell therapy uses the horse’s own (autologous) or donor-derived (allogeneic) mesenchymal stem/stromal cells to support repair of tendon, ligament, and certain joint injuries. These cells modulate inflammation, secrete growth factors that encourage organized tissue regeneration, and help restore more functional healing response. Stem cell treatment is commonly used for moderate-to-severe tendon and ligament lesions and as an adjunct in selected joint injuries; best outcomes occur when therapy is combined with diagnostic imaging, a controlled rehabilitation program, and appropriate adjunctive treatments. We evaluate each case with imaging and tailor the timing, cell source, and delivery method to maximize safety and long-term soundness.
