Connie grew up as a horse crazy girl in Woodside California where she rode both English and Western and was involved in Pony Club and 4-H. She moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB in 1979, where she got her BA in Communication Studies. While at UCSB she met her husband when they both worked as radio disc jockeys in various local stations including the campus station. They now have two adult children, also graduates of UCSB.
Connie spent 20 years as an instructor and program director for Hearts Therapeutic Riding. She still volunteers once a year as an equitation judge at the Calnet therapeutic riding horseshow, held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. She also is on the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara Equine Evacuation and Assistance group.
Her favorite part of working at Mission Equine, besides being part of a great team, is talking to the clients about their horse concerns. She most likely has had to deal with similar horse issues in the past, while managing barns and riding programs, giving her a unique perspective and expertise.
Connie loves to hike and spend time with her rescue dog, Millie. Every sunset you can find Connie, Millie, and her husband on their back patio with a glass of wine, enjoying living in Santa Barbara.
