Melissa Murphy brings a lifetime of experience and dedication to her work as an Equine Veterinary Assistant. With formal training in Equine Management and Artificial Insemination, along with an associate degree in animal sciences, she blends a strong academic foundation with decades of hands-on expertise in every aspect of horse care.
Her diverse background includes serving as a professional FEI-level groom, young horse trainer, and breeder of German Riding Ponies, where she applied her deep interest in equine genetics to develop thoughtful, high-quality breeding programs. Melissa has also worked extensively in laboratory settings, further honing her technical skills in equine reproduction, diagnostics, and wellness.
Known for her calm, capable presence and depth of knowledge, Melissa provides skilled and compassionate care to every horse she works with — supporting both routine procedures and complex veterinary cases with professionalism and heart.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her own horses, riding, and caring for her dogs and cats. With her children now in college and beginning their careers, she loves visiting them and cheering them on as they pursue their goals.
